Privacy Policy
Updated 25 October 2026
The Add Text Privacy Policy describes how Add Text To Photos : Textgram collects, uses and shares your personal data.
Alongside this policy, the app explains how a feature uses your data at the moment it needs it, such as before AI Design shares anything or before voice typing uses the microphone. You always see that information before you use the feature, and you can review your choices at any time in Settings → Privacy.
We built Add Text so that most of its work happens on your iPhone. Your photos are edited on the device, there is no account to create, there are no ads and no tracking, and your data is never sold.

1
What Is Personal Data at Add Text?
At Add Text, we believe privacy is a fundamental human right, and that it should be the same for everyone, wherever they live. We treat as personal data any information that identifies you directly, such as your email address, or that can reasonably be linked to you, such as the purchase ID Apple gives your download. Information combined so that it can no longer be linked to anyone, such as the number of times a Store pack was opened, is not personal data.
This Privacy Policy covers how the developer of Add Text To Photos : Textgram (“Add Text”, “the app”, “we” or “us”) handles personal data when you use the app, visit our website at addtext.pages.dev, or contact us. It doesn’t cover services that the app links to or that you choose to use with it, such as Apple’s own services or another app you share a design to. We encourage you to read their privacy policies.
Above all, Add Text is designed so that your data doesn’t need to leave your iPhone:
- Your photos. The app reads only the photos you choose, and edits them on your iPhone. Your photos are never uploaded to us.
- Your designs. They are saved on your iPhone, and in your own iCloud if you use it.
- Your profile picture. The picture you choose in Settings stays on your iPhone.
- AI and photo tools. AI Design, AI Text, cutouts, depth effects and object selection run on your iPhone, with Apple’s on-device models (Apple Intelligence, where available) and models the app downloads to your iPhone.
- Voice typing. The app asks Apple’s speech recognition to work on the device. The words you say are not sent to us.
- Quote of the Day widget. Its cards are made on your iPhone.
1.1 iCloud. If you use iCloud, your designs sync between your devices through your own iCloud account, in Apple’s private iCloud storage. It belongs to your Apple Account, and we can’t see or open it. Apple handles it under the Apple Privacy Policy. To stop syncing, open the Settings app → your name → iCloud.
1.2 Permissions. The app asks for a permission only when a feature needs it, and keeps working if you say no: Photos, to choose a photo and save your design; Microphone and Speech Recognition, only for voice typing; and Notifications, for a reminder before a free trial ends, scheduled on your iPhone. You can change them at any time in the Settings app → Apps → Add Text.
2
Your Privacy Rights
At Add Text, we respect your right to know what personal data we hold about you, and to access, correct, transfer, restrict and delete it. We give these rights to everyone who uses the app, wherever they live, and using them will never mean you are treated differently or receive a lesser version of the app. Where we ask for your consent, you can withdraw it at any time.
2.1 Exercising Your Rights. Many choices are in the app itself:
- Delete Account (Settings → your profile) removes all your shared templates, with your template profile, likes, reports and blocks, from our server. It does not cancel Add Text Pro; cancel that in the Settings app → your name → Subscriptions.
- Help Improve AI Design (Settings → Privacy) turns phrase sharing on or off.
- iCloud and permissions are in the Settings app.
For anything else, including a copy of your data or removing a single template, email ios.goutom@gmail.com with your purchase ID (Settings → Contact Support adds it for you). To protect your data, we use the purchase ID to confirm that a request comes from you, and we may ask for more information before we share or delete anything.
2.2 When We Can’t Grant a Request. Occasionally we may be unable to do what you ask: for example, where the law requires us to keep a purchase record, where a request would affect the privacy of someone else, or where it would undermine the safety of the community, such as deleting a report that is still under review. If that happens, we’ll explain why.
2.3 Complaints. You have the right to complain to the data protection authority where you live. If you live in California, you or someone you authorise can also make a request on your behalf by email.
3
Personal Data We Collect from You
At Add Text, we believe you shouldn’t have to give up your privacy to make something beautiful. That’s why we collect only the personal data we need, and only when you choose a feature that needs it. Designing, editing and saving to your iPhone need none at all. When you share a template, contact us, or choose to help improve AI Design, we may collect:
3.1 Template Information. When you choose Share your Template: the design’s words, layers and styles, a preview picture of the finished design (which shows any photo in it), the creator name you type, and the categories and tags you pick.
3.2 Community Activity. The templates you like or report, any note you write with a report, and the creators you block, saved with your template profile.
3.3 AI Design Phrases. Only if you allow it: phrases AI Design could not understand. Before anything leaves your iPhone, names, places and organisations are replaced, numbers, email addresses, @handles and links are removed, and phrases longer than 12 words are left out. At most 30 phrases are sent, at most once a day, with the app version, and they are stored without anything that links them to you or your device. No photo is ever sent.
3.4 Support Communications. If you email us: your email address, your message, and the details the app adds to a support email for you, which are the app version, iOS version, iPhone model and purchase ID. You see all of them before you send.
3.5 Usage Data. Anonymous counts of moments in the Store and on the plans page, such as a pack being opened or a plan being chosen. Each count holds the pack or item, the screen, the plan type and the app version, and no user or device ID.
You are not required to give us any of this. If you choose not to, you can still design, edit and save; only the feature that needs the data, such as sharing a template, won’t be available.
4
Personal Data We Receive from Other Sources
Add Text receives a small amount of personal data from Apple, and from the service that manages subscriptions for us. We never buy personal data, and we don’t receive data about you from data brokers or advertisers.
4.1 Apple. There is no account to create or sign in to. Apple gives each download of the app a random ID, the App Store transaction ID, which we call your purchase ID, together with a signed proof that it is genuine. It is not your name, email address or Apple Account. We use it to know that you have Add Text Pro on all your devices, and to keep the templates you share together as one anonymous template profile.
4.2 Purchases. Apple takes the payment, and we never see your card or billing details. RevenueCat, our subscription service, receives your plan, trial and renewal dates and the App Store’s purchase records, linked to your purchase ID.
4.3 Crash and Performance Data. If you agreed in your iPhone’s settings to share analytics with app developers, Apple sends us crash reports and summary statistics about how the app performs. They don’t identify you, and we use them only to fix problems.
5
Our Use of Personal Data
Add Text uses personal data to run the app and its community, to process your purchases, to answer you, to keep the app and its users safe, to improve the app, and to comply with the law. We use personal data only where we have a valid legal basis: because it’s needed to provide what you asked for under our Terms of Use, because you gave your consent, because the law requires it, or because it serves our legitimate interests in a way that respects your rights and expectations.
5.1 Run the App and Its Community. To unlock Add Text Pro on your devices, and to show, review and keep together the templates you share.
5.2 Process Your Purchases. To confirm your subscription and fix problems with it, using your purchase ID and the App Store’s records, and to see in total how subscriptions are doing, such as how many trials become subscriptions.
5.3 Communicate with You. To answer your emails. We don’t send marketing emails, and we only have your email address if you write to us. Important changes to our terms or this policy are shown in the app.
5.4 Security and Safety. To protect our servers from abuse, and to review shared templates and reports, so that content breaking our Community Rules, including anything that could harm a child, doesn’t reach other users.
5.5 Improve the App. To make AI Design better from the phrases you choose to share, which may be used to teach AI Design’s own language model without anything that links them to you; and to improve the Store and the app’s stability from anonymous statistics and crash reports.
5.6 Comply with Law. For example, to meet tax and record-keeping duties, or to answer a lawful request from the authorities.
5.7 Automated Decisions. We don’t use algorithms or profiling to make decisions that significantly affect you. AI Design’s suggestions are made on your iPhone, and you decide whether to use them. We don’t collect sensitive personal data.
5.8 Keeping Data. We keep personal data only as long as we need it for the purpose we collected it for, or as the law requires, and always for the shortest time we can:
- Shared templates and your template profile: until you ask us to remove them, or delete your account.
- Likes, reports and blocks: until you delete your account.
- AI Design phrases: 180 days.
- Support emails: as long as needed to help you.
- Purchase records: as long as Apple and RevenueCat keep them, and as tax law requires.
7
Protection of Personal Data
At Add Text, we believe a privacy promise is only as strong as the security behind it. The safest data is data that never leaves your iPhone, which is why most of the app works without sending anything. For the little that does travel, we use technical and organisational safeguards suited to the data: everything is sent encrypted (HTTPS), your template profile is created only from Apple’s signed proof of your download, its key is kept in your iPhone’s Keychain, and our database lets each person reach only their own data. We keep reviewing and improving these safeguards.
8
Children and Personal Data
Add Text understands how important it is to protect the personal data of children, whom we consider to be anyone under the age of 13, or the equivalent age set by law where they live.
Anyone can design with the app without giving any personal data, and there is no account to create. Sharing templates with the community is not intended for children, and every shared template is reviewed before it appears.
If we learn that a child’s personal data was collected without appropriate permission, we delete it as soon as possible. If you are a parent and believe your child has shared something with us, email us and we will remove it.
10
Transfer of Personal Data Between Countries
Add Text is used around the world, and so are the services that run it. Your personal data may be processed outside your country: it is stored mainly in the United States by our service providers, delivered through Cloudflare’s worldwide network, and handled by the developer, who is responsible for your data, from Bangladesh. Wherever your data is processed, it receives the same protection described in this policy.
Where personal data about people in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland is transferred to a country without an adequacy decision, the transfer is protected by safeguards such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses. Email us if you’d like to know more about them.
11
Our Commitment to Your Privacy
Add Text is made by an independent developer, so every decision about your data is made by the person who builds the app, never by an advertising partner. Privacy shaped how Add Text was built, from editing on your iPhone to having no account at all, and it will keep shaping every new feature. We promise:
- No ads.
- No tracking across other companies’ apps or websites.
- No selling or sharing your personal data for advertising.
- Your photos are never uploaded to us, never used to train AI, and never sent to third-party AI services.

Privacy Questions
If you have a question about this Privacy Policy or our privacy practices, want to exercise your rights, or would like to make a privacy complaint, email ios.goutom@gmail.com. We take every privacy question seriously. Your message goes straight to the developer of Add Text, who reads it personally, and in most cases you’ll receive a full reply within seven days. If we need more information or more time, we’ll let you know, and we’ll always reply within 30 days.
Please include your purchase ID, so we can find your data quickly: Settings → Contact Support adds it for you.
Where your message shows that we could handle privacy better, we’ll make the change at the next reasonable opportunity. If a privacy issue has affected you or someone else, we’ll work with you to put it right. You can refer a complaint to the data protection authority where you live at any time, including if you aren’t satisfied with our reply.
When there is a material change to this policy, we’ll show a notice in the app and on this page at least a week before it applies, explaining what changed, and the date at the top will change.
